Winter wonderland

26. prosince 2007 v 23:32
This article is dedicated to all of my friends that have never been to Slovakia, to all of my friends from southern countries that are used to spending their Christmas without snow, to all of them staying in Italy for the holiday and most of all, to all my friends that asked me to insert some photos of where I come from.

When I came home for Christmas, my first stop was Prague. It never gets too cold in big cities (and if there is some snow it melts immediately) and so the shock wasn't that big and my friends' nice welcome warmed me up.

But I am spending my Christmas at home with my family.
It's constantly around minus ten degrees by day outside, my dog gets white everytime he sniffs around and you hardly see someone not dressed in at least four layers of clothes.
It's beautiful outside:
We take our dog for a walk every day to get some fresh (and freezing) air. My dog- as a well-known fact- is called Yogi and- unlike me- he loves chilly winter and when we say "prechádzka" he always starts wagging his tail madly.
(my brother kept telling me to put his pictures on internet, so finally he can be happy:)
When I wake up and look out of the window I see High Tatras- mountains full of beautiful places, forests, hidden cottages and slopes. Oh, I love skiing! If only there was snow in warm weather too!
High Tatras. Down there is the village where my parents live. And now some pictures from the woods up in the mountains:
So- I hope that even if it's much warmer in Italy, Portugal or Spain, now you are a little bit jealous and maybe you've got some inspiration for your next (or this) winter's trip. It's nice to be home for Christmas... it's nice to be in a winter wonderland for a while... and then it gets too cold and it's about time to return...

Hey, those pics are great... ;-)) And  I am almost sure I know that place. That picture, the view of the village and Tatras behind...  Isn't it Lucivna and Mengusovce  beyond?

I think I was skiing there when I was 4 ;-DD
